Licensed Practical Nurse Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Plans and manages resident care according to each patient’s needs.
- Obtains patient vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and respiration.
- Answers resident calls.
- Provides routine care for residents.
- Monitors residents’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose resident charts
- Observes residents’ health.
- Monitors food trays for prescribed diet.
- Reviews medical charts.
- Accompanies residents to their rooms as needed.
- Assists physicians and registered nurses.
- Communicates with residents and their families.
- Collects samples for lab testing as assigned.
- Dispenses medication and also assists with self-administered medication.
- Observes residents and report adverse reactions to medication or treatment to personnel in charge.
- Prepares specimens for lab courier.
- Administers medications.
- Provides wound care.
- Assists with resident comfort.
- Cleans equipment and supplies.
- Inventories and requisitions supplies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises 1 or more employees in the Resident Healthcare Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Stones River Manor offers 8 hour shifts for a more well-rounded work/life balance. A variety of benefits are offered to full-time employees including vacation time, health insurance, and holiday pay. Weekend shifts come with differentials. Some part-time positions also include benefits.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of state approved training program
- Valid State LPN License
- Certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
